I would like to share, how I taught my PP children using
video tutorial made by myself to submit to our tutor. I don’t know how good or
bad it was still I used in the class to teach one particular topic.
While going through the blogs of our friends about
integration of ICT in classroom teaching and learning I came across many
advantages of using ICT to teach our children. So I thought why not I will give
a try with my video tutorial after competing.
When I was assigned
with the topic “The Concept of Zero” to make video tutorial from our tutor I skipped
that topic thinking that I will explore my teaching using my video tutorial.
After much struggle, I
could make a simple video tutorial on the topic “The Concept of Zero” from PP
mathematics. I was very eager to show it to my PP kids to teach the concept of
zero.
Before the lesson, I explained the objectives and told them
that I am going to teach them through my laptop. In a group, I showed the video
tutorial as in the picture below. I told them to listen and watch carefully.
They were so excited to see me in the video.
The class was silent until the end of my tutoring session. I repeatedly showed them, since the video was short and have enough time.
After they finished watching the video tutorial I let them do some activity. I was surprised to see that all the children did it very well. While doing the activity I could see them sharing about the pictures seen in the tutorial.
*Work done by the students after watching the video tutorials.
Lastly, children of this generation love to learn more by
watching than just listening to us. So I felt that if we have enough time and
expert in making video tutorial we can make video tutorial for some topics and
teach them through video. There will be more advantages of showing the video
tutorials on other topics too.

You did a great work by showing video tutorial to your children. They might have enjoyed a lot and learnt. However it would have been bit better if you could have used projector as I could see some your children leaning here and there to see the tutorial from laptop. Great !!!

DeleteIt is good and children get motivated in using the ICT in the class so teacher need to us as much to promote their learning. Keep going mamdam
ReplyDeleteWow it's nice to know that now our children are into the ICT world and even our teaching materials have also shifted from lately a chart paper to a complete set of information (both visual and audio). Even class PP students get an opportunity to use ICT to acquire information. You have made them comfortable as they can do it by getting the information themselves. Going ICT materials with class PP is a awesome work and i support you. Keep going.
ReplyDeleteYou have done great as always. Do keep it up for the favour of your students.
ReplyDeleteThank you sirs for your encouraging words.
ReplyDeleteGreat!!! Employment of this video tutorial would certainly bring greater impacts in teaching learning processes. Thus, it is a transformational tool to bring a shift to student centered learning rather than using traditonal textbooks.
ReplyDeleteDear author
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful job. We can reflect our own lapses as we watch our own video. Our own reflection will bring drastic change in teaching. Therefore, I would like to request you to practice such practices further to enhance our own behaviour in teaching. Reviewing and reflecting our own work are the key to success. so, keep going.
Sure sir. Thank you so much for the wonderful comments

ReplyDeleteWow, great to see you using your learned ideas to teach your children madam. It is good that children get motivated in using ICT facilities in the class.
ReplyDeleteFor better teaching and learning, teacher need to use as much as possible these ICT skills and techniques to promote our children's earning, madam
Great to see that ICT works not only with higher classes but pre-primary children love learning through ICT tools.
ReplyDeleteYes mam, PP children really enjoy watching video and in addition, they become interactive watching the videos. However, as these children are immature and restless, it would be better if you have used projector to project your video. When shown in the laptop in groups, they would push each other and there would be chaos and less attention. I dont know how you have managed that, but this is just my suggestion.
ReplyDeleteYou have applied your full ICT knowledge for the children and hope you have had interactive class. Class PP children they really love to watch vedio and do.
ReplyDeleteChildren must have enjoyed and they must have wondered on seeing there mam in the laptop but I know for sure they must have enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteIndeed ICT does wonders in children's learning.
Great madam, it is good to see you put into practice what you had learned.
ReplyDeleteLesson learnt and put to use. That's great!
ReplyDeleteWow! It's really a ring to all of in fact. You have put into practice what we have learned in our those classes. That's wonderful madam.
